Thank You Local Heroes!
Dear residents of Vermilion,
I admire the commitment of these 10 Vermilion heroes.
As a resident of Paimpol, a French town in the Brittany region, I am also President of the Paimpol – Vermilion Twinning Committee.
As you probably know, the town of Vermilion has been twinned with the town of ¨Paimpol (Côtes-d’Armor department, Brittany region) since 1992. This twinning seems to have worked well in the early days, but has been dormant for several years.
Together with other Paimpolais, we want to reactivate it, and we think it would be a particularly exciting project to involve as many Paimpolais as possible.
So, last June, I created the “Comité de Jumelage Paimpol – Vermilion” association.
This new association, in which the Mairie de Paimpol is a stakeholder, aims to take a fresh look at the twinning between our two towns.
To bring it to life, there will be exchanges between the inhabitants of our two towns, which we’ll need to program.
To involve the Paimpolais as widely as possible in this twinning, the Committee is creating an annual event called “La Semaine américaine du Pays de Paimpol”, during which various events will take place to introduce the Paimpolais to Vermilion, Ohio and American culture. The first edition will take place from April 19 to 27, 2025.
We’re always on the lookout for ideas to make this week even more exciting.
And to take it a step further, we’d be honored to have Vermilioners join us in April 2025.
Thanking you in advance for your support.
We look forward to hearing from you.
