The following report was provided by Vermilion Police Chief Chris Hartung as part of a weekly update to inform the community about local law enforcement activity. The blotter highlights incidents ranging from arrests and motor vehicle accidents to thefts, disturbances, and other public safety matters.

June 23, 2025

  • Delamere Road, 7:09 AM: Warrant served for Erie County. Suspect arrested and turned over to deputies.
  • Huron Street, 4:19 PM: Motor vehicle accident.
  • VPD Station, 11:55 PM: Subject with a State Patrol warrant turned over to OSP.

June 24, 2025

  • Shady Lake Drive, 7:53 AM: Vehicle parked for repossession was cited and towed.
  • Timberview Drive, 9:40 AM: Tree branch damaged a vehicle.
  • Toledo Street, 2:37 PM: Motor vehicle accident.
  • Main Street Beach, 6:02 PM: Key ring with pink paw turned in for safekeeping.

June 25, 2025

  • SR2, 9:53 AM: Motor vehicle accident.

June 26, 2025

  • Pineview Drive, 7:36 AM: Multiple people involved in a disturbance. Parties separated.
  • Overlook, 8:58 AM: Assisted EMS with transport to Mercy.
  • SR60, 10:30 AM: Motor vehicle accident.
  • Liberty Ave, 10:36 AM: Assisted EMS with transport to Mercy.
  • South Street, 3:32 PM: Telecommunications harassment complaint.
  • Berkley Road, 10:09 PM: Two driver’s licenses found and returned to owners.
  • SR2, 11:13 PM: Motor vehicle accident.

June 27, 2025

  • Mornington, 7:06 AM: Disturbance involving a person upset with construction. Subject advised to stop.
  • Sherod Park, 10:07 AM: Lost wallet turned in for safekeeping.
  • Vermilion Road, 2:18 PM: Boat trailer reported stolen.
  • Ohio Street, 5:58 PM: Arrest made for probation violation.
  • Grand Street, 7:10 PM: Missing person located by Lorain PD.
  • Liberty Ave, 9:08 PM: Motor vehicle accident.

June 28, 2025

  • State Street, 8:41 AM: Trespassing complaint.
  • Martin Ave, 3:04 PM: Vehicle entered overnight, tools stolen.
  • West River Road, 3:22 PM: Boat starter reported stolen.
  • Main Street Beach, 7:24 PM: Solicitor warned for violating permit conditions.
  • Timberview, 11:19 PM: Disturbance between several people. Parties separated.

June 29, 2025

  • Pineview Drive, 1:55 AM: Disturbance reported. Suspect fled before police arrived.
  • Sanford Street, 2:15 AM: Burglary reported. Suspect fled after being confronted.
  • Liberty Ave, 6:27 AM: Fraud complaint.
  • Decatur Street, 10:30 AM: Transformer explosion caused property damage.
  • SR60, 12:02 PM: Motor vehicle accident.
  • Park Drive, 12:46 PM: Wallet found and secured.
  • Beechview Drive, 9:02 PM: Burglary suspect arrested and taken to jail.
  • Idleview Drive, 9:52 PM: Sick opossum located and disposed of.
