VVERMILION — Multiple law enforcement agencies responded during the 4 o’clock hour Tuesday afternoon to an incident at the westbound Route 2 rest area near the scenic walking path.
The Lorain County Sheriff’s Office, Vermilion Police Department, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Vermilion Fire Department, and LifeCare Ambulance Service were all on scene, along with the Lorain County Coroner’s Office.
Authorities focused their efforts on an area near the wooded section of the walking path while crews processed the scene. Officials have not yet released the identity of the individual involved or details surrounding the circumstances.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is leading the investigation. Vermilion Daily will provide updates as additional information becomes available from investigators or the coroner’s office.
