Freshman swimmer Caleb Drost earned Vermilion Player of the Week recognition following a strong performance at the Craig Johnson Small School Invitational held on January 17.
Competing for the Sailors swim team, Drost scored a total of 14 points during the meet, contributing to Vermilion’s second-place overall finish among the competing schools.
Individually, Drost placed second in both the 200 Freestyle and the 100-yard backstroke. He was also part of the first-place Medley Relay, where he swam the backstroke leg. In addition, Drost served as the leadoff swimmer for the boys 200-yard Freestyle Relay, which finished third.
Drost’s combined individual and relay results played a key role in the Sailors’ overall team performance at the Invitational, helping Vermilion secure a runner-up finish.
The Player of the Week recognition highlights Drost’s contributions during the meet as a freshman member of the Sailors swim program.
