An elderly woman was injured this afternoon after tripping and falling in the middle of Liberty Avenue in front of The Vermilion Boat Club. The incident briefly blocked traffic in both directions as Vermilion police officers quickly arrived on scene.
Officers acted swiftly to ensure the woman’s safety and redirect traffic through a single lane. Patrolman Wood remained by her side, providing comfort and care until she was transported by emergency services.
The woman was taken to Mercy Hospital for evaluation and treatment. No further details are available at this time, but she appeared alert and responsive as she was transported.
Thanks to the quick action of Vermilion police and emergency responders, the scene was cleared without further incident.
