Ester Carolyn Moore (née Mizer), 84, of Vermilion, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, after a long illness.

Born November 8, 1940, in Wooster, Ohio, Carolyn spent her early years in her beloved hometown before moving to Vermilion, where she built a life filled with family, friends, and community.

For more than 50 years, Carolyn and her son Greg owned and operated Moore Hair Design/Moore Than A Cut, where she worked as a talented and trusted cosmetologist. Her dedication to her craft went far beyond styling hair; she celebrated life’s milestones with her clients, often transforming professional relationships into lifelong friendships. Carolyn took great pride in helping others feel confident and cared for through every phase of their lives.

Carolyn embraced life with an adventurous and joyful spirit. She loved playing cards, taking motorcycle rides with her husband, enjoying bus trips and shopping outings, and spending peaceful days fishing on the pontoon boat. Her true passion, however, was her family. Carolyn created a warm and welcoming home where love and laughter filled every family gathering.

She is survived by her daughters, Vickey (Kathy Hanaburgh) Moore of Vermilion, Donna Mohler of Florida, and Crystal (Bob) Napier of Wooster; her treasured grandchildren, Matthew, Paige, Jordan, Collin, Alexis, and Rachel; great-grandchildren, William and Thomas; and her siblings, Dean Mizer, Shirley Boutwell, Connie Kaufman, Joy Finner, Grant Hostutler, and Randy Mizer.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Moore; her son, Gregory Moore; and her parents, Maurice Mizer and Eleanor (née Schibe) Hostutler.

Honoring Carolyn’s wishes, no public services will be held. A private inurnment will take place at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Wooster.

Memorial contributions in Carolyn’s memory may be made to Mercy Health New Life Hospice by Compassus, 3500 Kolbe Road, Lorain, OH 44053.

Condolences can be shared online at www.riddlefuneralhome.com.
