A Heartfelt Thanks to the Vermilion Community

As Thanksgiving arrives, it’s only fitting that we pause to reflect on everything we are grateful for here at Vermilion Daily. This past year has been nothing short of extraordinary, and that’s all thanks to you — the people who make up this incredible community.

When we started Vermilion Daily, our mission was simple: to serve as a trusted source of news for the people of Vermilion. We wanted to keep you informed about the things that matter—both the joyful and the tough. The fact that you’ve trusted us with this responsibility means the world. It’s an honor we don’t take lightly.

We are thankful beyond words for the overwhelming support you’ve shown us since we opened our doors less than a year ago. The way this community has embraced us has been humbling. You’ve not only read our articles, but you’ve shared them, commented on them, and discussed them with friends and neighbors. It’s that kind of engagement that inspires us to dig deeper and do better every single day.

This community is special. You don’t shy away from the hard truths, and you value knowing what’s happening, even when the news is uncomfortable. We’re thankful for your trust as we tackle those tougher topics. At the same time, it’s a privilege to highlight the people in our community who are making a difference. Whether it’s a new business owner chasing a dream, a coach shaping young lives, or a volunteer quietly improving the town, we love shining a light on these moments and the people behind them.

We’re also blown away by the sheer numbers. Over 1.4 million views every month? That’s not just a number to us—it’s a reminder of how connected this community is. Hundreds of thousands of you engage with us monthly, and over 10,000 of you follow us across Facebook. Those aren’t just stats; they’re individuals who care about what’s happening in their town.

And then there’s our website. It’s hard to put into words what it means to see those 10,000 monthly views. To know that people are taking the time to visit our little corner of the internet and read the stories we pour our hearts into—it’s humbling. Every single reader matters to us.

As we reflect on all of this, it’s clear that Vermilion isn’t just a place to live—it’s a community that cares deeply about each other. It’s a town where stories matter, where people rally around one another, and where even the smallest contributions can ripple into something bigger.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making this first year such an incredible journey. Thank you for trusting us to tell your stories. Thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting Vermilion Daily. And most of all, thank you for being the kind of community that reminds us, every day, why we do what we do.

Happy Thanksgiving, Vermilion. We’re so grateful for you. 💜🤎❤️
