VERMILION — The gas pumps at Mickey Mart on Liberty Avenue are now fully operational again, weeks after a medical emergency caused a serious crash and canopy collapse.
The store manager confirmed the pumps are back up and running. No diesel at this time. They are open 24 hours. She explained that the canopy has been removed, and because of that there is limited lighting this weekend. At night it may be harder to see, so customers should use caution. By Monday, the lighting is expected to be resolved.
This follows the August 4 incident when a driver, reportedly suffering a medical emergency, crashed into the gas pumps, causing the canopy to collapse and resulting in a helicopter airlift to MetroHealth Medical Center.
