Update: We were contacted back by Ohio State trooper Wood, who covered the scene. He informed me that the accident was initially responded to as a road rage incident and was then classified as a two-car accident.

On February 28, 2025, a road rage incident on SR-60 in Vermilion Township led to a police response from the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSP), with assistance from the Vermilion Police Department (VPD) and the Erie County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the victim, they were driving a Tesla when another motorist became agitated upon seeing the vehicle. The suspect reportedly made Nazi salutes before attempting to swerve into the Tesla multiple times. The situation escalated when the suspect intentionally rammed the Tesla while traffic slowed on an off-ramp.

OSP responded to the incident around 5:30 p.m. at the Friendship gas station on Route 60 in Vermilion Township after receiving a call from the victim, who had just been struck by the suspect’s vehicle on the exit ramp. VPD’s Glyph Report 25-5775 indicates that officers assisted OSP, which is leading the investigation. The suspect’s identity and any potential charges have not been officially confirmed.

The victim anonymously posted on social media and expressed appreciation for law enforcement’s response. We are currently awaiting a response from the Sandusky post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol for further details.

This is a developing story. We will provide updates as more details become available.
