The Kiwanis Club of Vermilion will host the “Vermilion Bowling Bonanza” on Sunday, Feb. 15, from noon to 2 p.m. at Lake Erie Lanes, 4523 Liberty Ave.
The event is free for kids 17 and under. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. According to Jacqui Adkins, vice president of the Kiwanis Club of Vermilion, the goal is to give kids something fun and positive to look forward to during the winter months when outdoor activities are limited.
“It’s simply a chance for kids to get out of the house, be active, and have a great afternoon together,” Adkins said. She added that making events free is important so every child can feel welcome and included, regardless of circumstances.
Kiwanis partnered with Lake Erie Lanes, which Adkins said donated its facility to make the event possible. The flyer notes families can enjoy free bowling, shoes, pizza, drinks and prizes.
The club is also thanking prize sponsors who donated eight free 2026 season passes for the Vermilion Community Pool and the city’s new splash pad. Sponsors include Superior Practice Management, Cleveland Stone, Homeworks General Contracting Inc., German’s Villa and Main St Threads.
Adkins said Kiwanis hopes kids leave with “big smiles, great memories, and maybe even some new friendships,” and that events like this are one way the club works to support children and strengthen the community.
