Vermilion Fire Department Incidents

From the desk of Vermilion Fire Department Chief Bill Brown

August 11 – 04:15 – EMS assist – Cooper Foster Park Rd
Responded to assist EMS with a patient in full arrest. Crews were cancelled enroute. Five personnel responded.

August 11 – 11:03 – CO alarm – Langfitt Street
Responded to a reported carbon monoxide alarm activation. Upon arrival, high CO levels were found. Further investigation revealed a faulty water heater. Three trucks responded with four personnel.

August 11 – 12:51 – Mutual aid, structure fire – Wilshire Drive
Responded to Amherst for an RV on fire next to a residence. Crews assisted in extinguishing the fire. Two trucks responded with five personnel.

August 12 – 12:49 – Alarm activation – Telegraph Lane
Responded to a commercial fire alarm activation. Found a faulty detector. One truck responded with five personnel.

August 12 – 15:16 – CO alarm – Sunnyside Road
Two trucks and five personnel responded for a CO alarm activation. The detector was found to be faulty.

August 14 – 15:55 – CO alarm – Brownhelm Station Road
Two trucks with four personnel responded to investigate a carbon monoxide alarm. The detector was found to be faulty.

August 15 – 18:25 – Dog in distress – Showse Park
Report of a dog in distress in the water. Upon arrival, the owner was able to secure the dog. Two trucks responded with seven personnel.

August 15 – 18:56 – Natural gas incident – Rowland Road
Responded to the report of a natural gas line being struck by a homeowner. Crews secured the scene and waited for Columbia Gas to arrive. Four trucks responded with eight personnel.
