August 2 – August 8 Fire Incidents
August 2 – 09:01 – EMS assist – Northview Court
Responded to assist EMS with a patient, not breathing, CPR in progress. Upon arrival, met with patient who was alert and breathing. Assisted EMS with packaging for transport. Seven personnel responded with three trucks.
August 2 – 20:50 – EMS assist – South Shore Court
Responded to assist EMS due to a delay in response from Lifecare, for a patient with blood pressure issues. Crews obtained vitals and stabilized patient for EMS. Two trucks responded with six personnel.
August 4 – 08:33 – Natural gas line struck – Edgewater Blvd.
Responded to a natural gas line being struck by a utility crew. Secured the area until Columbia Gas arrived. Three trucks responded with five personnel.
August 4 – 14:33 – Motor vehicle accident – Liberty Avenue
Responded to the report of a vehicle striking a gas pump. Upon arrival, found the car not only hit the gas pump, but also struck a support post for the overhead canopy. Assisted EMS with packaging the patient and securing a landing zone for Metro Lifeflight. Seven personnel responded with three trucks.
August 6 – 08:51 – Vehicle fire – SR 2 & Baumhart Rd
Responded to reported vehicle fire. Upon arrival, no fire was found, however an oil leak may have caused a brief fire underneath the vehicle. Two trucks responded with three personnel.
August 7 – 11:28 – Haz Mat incident – West River Road
Responded to the report of pool chemicals “exploding”. Upon arrival, met with the owner who had put the product in the pool floater and it began making “popping noises”. Investigating the product, it was found that it was not being used per the manufacturer’s guidelines. All parties were evaluated by Lifecare EMS. Two trucks responded with five personnel.
August 7 – 16:05 – Mutual aid, structure fire – Middle Ridge Road
Responded to assist Amherst FD with a possible structure fire. Cancelled enroute. Two trucks responded with eight personnel.
