Vermilion Fire Department Incident Summary: June 28 – July 4

June 30

  • 09:24 – Coal Spill into River (Liberty Avenue): Coal dust was reported blowing from a train car into the river. Deemed non-toxic. Four vehicles, nine personnel responded.
  • 11:17 – Fall Injury (Vermilion Road): Assisted EMS with a female fall victim. One vehicle, two personnel.
  • 12:58 – Citizen Assist (Howard Drive): Helped remove a ring from a female’s finger. One truck, five personnel.

July 1

  • 23:30 – Vehicle Fire (SR 2, mile marker 158): Responded to report of a possible vehicle fire. Three vehicles, nine personnel.

July 2

  • 11:43 – Unresponsive Male (Parkland Blvd.): Assisted EMS with an unresponsive elderly man. Two trucks, three personnel.
  • 16:08 – Possible Structure Fire (Franklin Road): Mutual aid to Amherst for possible fire. One truck, six personnel.

July 3

  • 17:34 – Lift Assist (Highbridge Road): Assisted VPD with lift. Two trucks, three personnel.
  • 23:54 – CO Alarm (Ingleside Avenue): False alarm due to faulty detector. One truck, four personnel.

July 4

  • 02:24 – Residential Fire Alarm (Ohio Street): Smoke from faulty fan motor. Two trucks, six personnel.
  • 10:59 – EMS Trauma (Main Street): Assisted EMS for possible stabbing. One truck, six personnel.
