Vermilion Fire Department Incidents

The Vermilion Fire Department responded to a variety of incidents between July 12 and July 18, ranging from traffic accidents to fire alarms and a submerged boat. Below is a summary of the department’s activity for the week:
- July 12 – 4:28 PM: Crews responded to a single-vehicle accident at the SR 2 rest area. One truck and five personnel were dispatched. Minor injuries were reported.
- July 14 – 12:38 AM: A residential fire alarm was reported on Hull Lane. Firefighters arrived to find no active fire or hazard. Two trucks with five personnel responded.
- July 16 – 10:45 AM: A three-car motor vehicle accident occurred at SR 2 and Baumhart Road. Crews assisted with traffic control. Two trucks with three personnel were on scene.
- July 16 – 8:22 PM: A commercial fire alarm on Exchange Street prompted a response from two trucks and eight personnel. The alarm was determined to be accidental.
- July 17 – 10:19 PM: A report of a submerged boat at a marina on West River Road drew three trucks and nine personnel. Crews checked for potential fluid spills and released the scene to marina staff after ensuring safety.
