The following incidents were reported by the Vermilion Police Department during the period of August 4 through August 17, 2025. The blotter is compiled from information provided by Police Chief Chris Hartung.

August 4

  • 0608 — SR2: Motor vehicle accident, no injuries.
  • 1430 — Liberty Ave: Motor vehicle accident, no injuries.
  • 2306 — Sheriff’s Department advised they had a subject picked up on a Vermilion warrant; transported to Erie County Jail pending arraignment.

August 5

  • 0347 — Liberty Ave: Driver stopped for moving violation charged with possession of drugs and tampering with evidence; transported to Erie County Jail.
  • 1243 — 200 block Yorktown: Fraud complaint.

August 6

  • 0320 — 500 block Main St: Juveniles located and cited for curfew violation and underage consumption; released to parents.
  • 1728 — 900 block Douglas St: Civil complaint for property damage by a roommate.
  • 2343 — 1200 block Hollyview Dr: Disturbance reported; parties separated.

August 7

  • 1519 — 600 block Decatur St: Subject arrested on Lorain warrant; turned over to LPD.
  • 2241 — Liberty Ave: Motor vehicle accident, no injuries.

August 8

  • 0744 — 500 block Woodside Dr: Civil complaint over missing property.
  • 1740 — Main St: Juvenile cited for reckless operation on electric motorcycle; vehicle towed.

August 9

  • 0325 — Liberty Ave: Intoxicated pedestrian arrested for disorderly conduct after multiple disturbances; cited and transported home.
  • 1115 — Peach St: Complaint of subject blocking tow truck; advised accordingly.
  • 1233 — 5000 block Oakview Dr: Dog bite reported; referred to dog warden and health department.
  • 2226 — Hollyview Dr: Driver arrested for OVI following traffic stop.

August 10

  • 0008 — 900 block West River Rd: Suspicious subject reported; not located.
  • 1801 — 300 block Edison Dr: Assisted EMS with patient transport.

August 11

  • 1450 — Minnie WaWa: Found credit card turned in.
  • 1452 — 5600 block Liberty Ave: Juveniles caused damage to automatic doors; parents advised.
  • 2039 — Grand St: Found hearing aid turned in.

August 12

  • 1621 — Mornington Rd: Driver arrested for driving under suspension following traffic stop.

August 13

  • 1305 — West River Rd: Motor vehicle accident, no injuries.

August 14

  • 1650 — 600 block Decatur St: Warrant served.
  • 1741 — 4700 block Liberty Ave: Disturbance reported; parties separated.
  • 2046 — Huron St: Parking complaint; citation issued.

August 15

  • 2258 — Liberty Ave: Motor vehicle accident, no injuries.

August 16

  • 1254 — 400 block Erie Rd: Theft of tools reported; suspect claims civil dispute.
  • 1423 — 4600 block Idleview Dr: Unruly juvenile complaint.
  • 1547 — 4600 block Bridgeport Dr: Caller reported unwanted subjects; one arrested on warrant and suspected narcotics recovered; transported to Erie County Jail.
  • 2100 — 500 block Main St: Parking complaint; citation issued.

August 17

  • 1906 — 500 block South Shore Ct: Unruly juvenile complaint.
