This week, we recognize two outstanding Vermilion Sailors athletes for their incredible performances. From the desk of Vermilion Sailors Athletic Director Andy Stillman.

Mason Cooper (Sophomore)
In a thrilling 50-45 victory over Oak Harbor, Mason led the Sailors with an impressive 18 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. His strong all-around game helped propel the team to another exciting win!

Cole Rini (Junior)
Cole, a 3-year swimmer for the Vermilion High School team and team captain, made waves at the Northwest District D2 Swim Meet at Bowling Green State University on February 14th.

  • In the Medley Relay, Cole swam the breaststroke leg, helping his team finish 11th overall and setting a new VHS record with a time of 1:45.55.
  • He also swam the leadoff leg of the 200 Freestyle Relay, finishing 14th overall with a personal-best time of 1:35.52.
  • Individually, Cole competed in two events:
    • The 200 Individual Medley, where he placed 12th with a personal-record and school-record time of 2:04.79.
    • The 100 Breaststroke, where he placed 2nd with a time of 59.71, qualifying him for the State Swim Meet at Canton McKinley High School on February 20th.

Congratulations to both Mason and Cole for their impressive performances and contributions to the Sailors’ success!
