Vermilion Schools Eye Another Bond Levy Vote?

Vermilion Local Schools announce Special Board Meeting for future bond levy.

The Vermilion Local School District has scheduled a special board meeting for Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 6:00 PM at Vermilion High School Commons. According to the official notice, the purpose of the meeting is to consider and potentially vote on a resolution that would begin the legal process of placing a $47 million school improvement bond issue back on the ballot.

This move signals the district’s intention to ask voters again after a similar bond levy was defeated in the May 2025 election. The language in the notice cites Ohio Revised Code 133.18, which governs how school districts submit bond issues to voters.

No bonds would be issued unless the levy is approved by voters, likely November 2025, if the board proceeds. Vermilion Daily will be attending the meeting and will keep you updated on what transpires.
