Child Support Enforcement: Lorain County Commissioners approved more than $2.5 million in service contracts to support the county’s child support enforcement operations through partnerships with local legal and court agencies.
Public Challenges on Budget Growth
During the open comment period, Brian Baker, a former candidate for commissioner, addressed what he described as significant and unsustainable growth in the county’s operational budget. Baker cited figures showing a rise from $61 million to $86 million, alongside an increase in the number of employees earning six-figure salaries — from 55 to 154. He announced plans to attend upcoming meetings with the Budget Commission, County Auditor, and Treasurer in pursuit of fiscal transparency.
