The Chocolate and Wine Walk in Vermilion, Ohio, was held on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at 12 PM, delighting attendees with a festive “Christmas in July” theme. Organized by the Vermilion Chamber of Commerce, the event invited participants to shop, dine, and explore downtown Vermilion while enjoying wine and chocolate samples from local merchants.

Registration, which included an event bag, wristband, and map, began at 11:30 AM at Victory Park Gazebo. Attendees checked in and then embarked on their flavorful journey, sampling delicious treats from various shops. The event encouraged participants to don their best Christmas in July attire, with prizes awarded for the most creative outfits.

A key feature of the walk was the opportunity to win a Grand Prize Basket. Participants who completed the map and made purchases at participating merchants—earning an extra entry for every $10 spent—could enter the drawing for the grand prize. This initiative supported local businesses, as the funds raised would benefit the Vermilion Chamber of Commerce, local schools, charities, and foundations.

Despite the summer heat, the event maintained a cheerful holiday spirit. The Chamber ensured that the event proceeded, with Executive Director Sandy Coe and Vermilion Festival of the Fish Royalty helping registrants get started at the Gazebo in Victory Park. Participants received a QR code upon registration for a smooth check-in process.

Overall, the Chocolate and Wine Walk successfully combined the joy of Christmas with the warmth of summer, offering a unique and enjoyable experience for everyone involved. It highlighted the charm of Vermilion and supported the local community, making it a memorable day for all attendees.
