Dinner Fundraiser Planned to Support Family of Lucille Hopkins

SHEFFIELD VILLAGE — A fundraiser dinner is being organized to support the family of Lucille Hopkins, one of two young women connected to Vermilion and EHOVE schools who died in Friday’s crash in Lorain.

The event will take place this upcoming Wednesday, March 11, from 12 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Local 2000, 3151 Abbe Road in Sheffield Village.

The event is being organized by Local UAW 2192 of Lorain County Job and Family Services, where Hopkins’ father works. Organizers said proceeds will go directly to the family.

Several meal options will be available, including a pernil and rice dinner and a chicken and rice dinner for $15, along with a $7 pernil sandwich meal. A 50/50 raffle and gift basket raffle will also be held during the event.

Community members who wish to attend or support the family are encouraged to stop by during event hours Wednesday.
