Soccer, tennis efforts earn weekly honors
VERMILION — Vermilion Sailors Athletics is recognizing two standout performances this week, naming freshman Addison Johnson and senior Megan Wade as its Sailor Standouts, Athletes of the Week.
Johnson, a center midfielder for the girls soccer team, has set a high standard in practices, scrimmages and competition. Her versatility and team-first approach allow her to step into any position where she is needed. She consistently gives her best effort and has demonstrated a strong work ethic and commitment to the team as she continues to develop throughout her freshman season.
Wade has opened her senior tennis season with a pair of strong results. She placed third at the Midview doubles tournament to earn a bronze medal, then followed that performance with a 6-1, 6-3 singles victory against Midview on Saturday.
