Golfers begin fall season strong
VERMILION — Vermilion Sailors Athletics is recognizing two strong performances this week with its first Sailor Standouts selections of the fall season.
Junior Colleen Traut recorded an 18-hole personal-best score of 104 at the Edison Open. She overcame adversity during the round and could have folded, but she battled back and finished strong.
Senior Noah Penton has stepped up as a leader and is off to a strong start this season. He shot a 78 at Grey Hawk and a 37 at Woussickett.
Congratulations to Traut and Penton on being named this week’s Sailor Standouts, Athletes of the Week.
