Ronald M. Millis, 90, a lifelong resident of Vermilion, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Mercy Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born on April 14, 1934, in Vermilion, Ronald served his country with pride in the United States Army during the Korean War.

His career included work at Maurer-Wikel Dairy Inc., Fulper Auto Parts, Hull Concrete, and Herk Excavating. He also cherished the tranquility of nature, often spending time feeding and watching wildlife.

He is survived by his son, Mark Millis (EmmaLou) of Vermilion; grandson, Devin Douglas (Kerri); great-granddaughter, Giada Douglas; sister, Rheeta Beeler (Norm) of Amherst; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Ronald was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley Ann Millis; his parents, Michael and Mildred (née Smith) Millis; his brother, Richard “Dick” M. Millis; and his sisters, Ruth Pfistner and Barbara Finucan.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 6:00 p.m. at Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Military honors will be rendered at 6:00 p.m., followed by a service officiated by Reverend Cliff Morris.

Interment will follow on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Maple Grove Cemetery in Vermilion.

Memorial contributions may be made in Ronald’s name to Lakeview Baptist Church, 591 Ferndale Avenue, Vermilion, OH 44089.
