A Vermilion man, Matthew G. Rich, is facing two felony charges under Ohio Revised Code 2907.322, related to pandering sexually explicit material involving a minor. Rich, 40, was arrested earlier this week, and his case is currently being handled in Vermilion Municipal Court, located at 687 Decatur Street.

Court records indicate that a warrant was initially issued for Rich’s arrest on March 11, 2025, and later recalled upon execution. He was arraigned on March 13 and is currently being held at the Lorain County Jail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.

Rich is represented by attorney Jason Harless of Lorain, Ohio. A subpoena has been issued for Sgt. Dale Reising of the Vermilion Police Department, who is listed as the complainant in the case. Additional filings include a time waiver and an application for a court-appointed attorney.

At this stage, Rich’s case remains pending, and no plea or final ruling has been made. This is a developing story, and more updates will be provided as they become available.
