The criminal case against Matthew G. Rich, 40, of Vermilion, has officially moved from Vermilion Municipal Court to the Lorain County Court of Common Pleas.

Rich is facing two second-degree felony counts related to pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor. The charges were originally filed under case number CRA2500052 before being bound over to Common Pleas under case number 25CR113477.

A transcript filed on April 1, 2025 shows that Rich was granted a $30,000 personal bond, released on house arrest, and issued a no-contact order.

On April 22, Rich filed a motion to terminate his GPS ankle monitor. As of this writing, no ruling has been posted and no trial date has been set.

Vermilion Daily will continue to monitor this case and provide updates as new court dates and filings emerge.
