May 14, 2025
10:14 PM – Aldrich Rd
Disturbance – An Ohio Edison employee reported being threatened by a customer after cutting power due to safety concerns. No further issues were reported.

May 15, 2025
12:59 AM – SR-2 (Lorain County)
High-Speed Pursuit – Vermilion officers assisted Ohio State Highway Patrol during a pursuit. Spike strips were deployed near mile marker 159.4. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident.
7:19 AM – Gore Orphanage Rd
Injury Crash Reported – A caller advised that his wife had been in a car accident and suffered a broken leg. The call was transferred to Lorain County authorities.
8:12 AM – Gore Orphanage Rd
DOA Response – Vermilion PD was requested for a deceased individual call. The situation was handled by Lorain County.
4:26 PM – Langfitt St
Theft Report – A resident reported several World War II items belonging to her grandfather had been stolen. An investigation was opened.
May 16, 2025
1:09 AM – North Ridge Rd
Squad Run – A 34-year-old female was found with a cut on her neck. The caller was unsure whether the injury was intentional. Officers assisted EMS and transported the woman for care.
11:20 AM – Brownhelm Station Rd
Accidental Injury – A 66-year-old male shot himself in the wrist with a nail gun. Lifecare and police responded.
11:43 PM – Kingston of Vermilion
Fire Call – Staff reported a smell of smoke in the main hallway. No flames or smoke were observed. The building was secured, and no evacuation was necessary.
2:40 AM – Main Street Beach
Suspicious Activity – Officers located a male and female in the parking lot with unopened beer. They were advised that alcohol is not permitted in the park.
May 17, 2025
11:27 AM – Morris Ave
Medical Emergency – A woman was experiencing symptoms of a heart attack. Lifecare transported her to a local hospital.
3:05 PM – Hull Ln
Welfare Check – A neighbor reported concern after flowers remained on a porch and a vehicle hadn’t moved. Officers made contact with the resident, who stated she had been sick and did not require assistance.
5:52 PM – Ritter Public Library
Suspicious Person – A male was reported as possibly under the influence. Officers determined he had been walking cross-state for three days and provided him with a ride.
May 18, 2025
12:47 AM – Valley Harbor Marina
Hit-Skip – A caller reported that his parked truck had been struck by another vehicle, which fled the scene. No injuries were reported.
1:54 AM – Edgewater Dr
Medical Emergency – A 78-year-old male fell and suffered a head injury. Lifecare responded and provided transport.
2:02 AM – Claus Rd
Noise Complaint – Officers responded to reports of loud music and strobe lights at a residence. Residents were advised of the city’s noise ordinance and turned the music down.
5:16 PM – Ingleside Ave
Civil Dispute – A father reported a custody exchange violation. Both parents came to the station and presented conflicting allegations regarding the child’s treatment. Officers advised both parties to follow court-ordered documentation.
5:16 PM – Mornington Rd
Recovered Property – A debit card found at Main Street Beach was returned to its owner.
