A well-known and respected community member in Vermilion recently discovered this detailed medallion lying on the sidewalk near West Marine in Sandusky. It’s engraved with a date from 1914 and appears to be a military or cadet-related award—likely second prize in a championship of some kind.

The finder is a well-traveled mariner with a deep appreciation for history and its artifacts. Recognizing that this medallion likely holds both personal and historical significance, they’ve been thoughtful and deliberate in trying to return it to its rightful owner. Out of respect for its importance, they’ve asked us not to disclose certain details publicly, ensuring it only ends up in the right hands.

If you think this belongs to you or your family, please message us with:
✅ The name engraved on the back
✅ The organization or company it references
✅ Any personal or family history connecting you to the item

📍 Found on the sidewalk near West Marine in Sandusky, Ohio.

If you believe you recognize this medallion or have information about its rightful owner, please message us on Facebook or email vermiliondaily@gmail.com. We’re assisting in connecting the finder with the appropriate party, but we are not in possession of the item. Please be prepared to verify identifying details.

Let’s help this piece of history make its way back home.
