VERMILION — A key piece of Vermilion’s upcoming Gold Star Memorial has been installed at Exchange Park, marking a major step forward in the city’s efforts to honor local service members who gave their lives in defense of our country.
The monument, led by Navy veteran and AMVETS Commander Malcolm Williams, will feature the names of Vermilion-area veterans who died in the line of duty. Additional components will be added as the installation progresses ahead of the dedication ceremony on Memorial Day, May 26, 2025.
The Gold Star Memorial is being placed at Exchange Park, 641 Main Street, and represents Vermilion’s first dedicated tribute to its fallen heroes.
