Vermilion Fire Department Incidents: September 6 – September 12

From the desk of Vermilion Fire Chief Bill Brown, here is a summary of fire department activity for the week of September 6 through September 12:

  • September 6, 12:56 p.m. – EMS call, ring removal on Douglas Street. Four personnel responded to Station 1 to assist a female with removing a ring from her finger.
  • September 6, 4:20 p.m. – Motor vehicle accident on North Ridge Road. A collision involving a car and motorcycle prompted a response from three trucks and eight personnel.
  • September 10, 10:29 a.m. – Natural gas line struck on Edgewater Boulevard. Utility crews reported a gas line hit, with two trucks and three personnel responding to investigate.
  • September 11, 10:28 a.m. – Natural gas line struck on Edgewater Boulevard. A private contractor hit a service line. Gas was shut off at the street. Three trucks and five personnel responded.
  • September 12, 10:24 p.m. – Motor vehicle accident on South Street. A minor accident drew a response from one truck and six personnel.
