From the desk of Vermilion Police Chief Chris Hartung, the following incidents were reported by the Vermilion Police Department for the week of September 15 through September 21, 2025.

September 15
• 9:39 a.m. — Liberty Ave: Driver stopped for a moving violation was found to be under suspension and placed under arrest.

September 16
• 12:23 p.m. — 900 block of Jefferson Street: Criminal damaging complaint.
• 3:06 p.m. — 1200 block of State Street: Civil complaint.
• 4:56 p.m. — Lorain County Jail: Warrant served.
• 9:36 p.m. — 5600 block of Liberty Ave: Credit card found on the sidewalk and turned in.

September 17
• 9:12 a.m. — 300 block of Portland Drive: Welfare check.
• 10:42 a.m. — 200 block of Woodside Drive: Fraud complaint.
• 4:00 p.m. — Vermilion Road: Driver stopped for a moving violation was found to be under suspension and placed under arrest.
• 6:04 p.m. — 900 block of Decatur Street: Vandalism complaint.
• 7:26 p.m. — 5300 block of Ohio Street: Dog at large complaint, owner cited.

September 18
• 12:04 a.m. — 200 block of Parkland Drive: Trespassing complaint.
• 12:11 a.m. — Liberty Ave: Driver stopped for a moving violation was found to be under the influence and placed under arrest.
• 10:47 a.m. — North Ridge Road: Roll-over accident; driver fled on foot, later located and placed under arrest for OVI.

September 19
• 9:58 a.m. — 1200 block of Sanford Street: Unruly juvenile complaint.
• 12:59 p.m. — 800 block of Exchange Street: Fraud complaint.
• 1:23 p.m. — 600 block of Guilford Road: Harassment complaint.

September 20
• 12:48 a.m. — Liberty Ave: Driver stopped for a moving violation had a passenger with a warrant from Huron County. The passenger was placed under arrest.
• 12:51 p.m. — Liberty Ave: Motor vehicle accident.

September 21
• 10:44 a.m. — Liberty Ave: Motor vehicle accident.
• 5:03 p.m. — 5700 block of Liberty Ave: Fraud complaint.
• 11:11 p.m. — 300 block of Morton Road: Vehicle struck a house. Driver was found under the influence and placed under arrest.
• 12:45 a.m. — Liberty Ave: Report of a driver slumped behind the wheel. The driver was found under the influence and placed under arrest.
