A local salon is rallying the community this February to support Brinley, a 4-year-old girl who is waiting for a life-saving heart transplant.
From Feb. 1 through March 1, The Aura Collection is hosting “Hearts for Brinley,” a fundraiser to help Brinley and her family during a prolonged hospital stay.
Brinley was born healthy, but a virus later caused myocarditis. That led to dilated cardiomyopathy and heart failure, something her family did not see coming. After months of fighting, medications are no longer enough. She is currently inpatient at Cleveland Clinic Children’s, where she is waiting for a donor heart. She will remain inpatient while her family stays by her side, praying for the perfect donor heart to come along.
As part of the fundraiser, community members can purchase heart donations for $10 each. Every heart purchased counts as one raffle entry to win a basket of goodies donated by the stylists and service providers at The Aura Collection. Organizers say 100 percent of proceeds will go directly to Brinley and her family.
Supporters can stop in to The Aura Collection to purchase a heart, or donate online through the fundraiser link. Organizers also encouraged community members to share the fundraiser and keep Brinley in their prayers.
