Linwood Landing set to open June 25 in Vermilion

Park prepares residents for food trucks, music and outdoor bar.

VERMILION — Linwood Landing is set to open June 25, transforming an underused section of Linwood Park property into a new outdoor gathering place featuring food trucks, vendors, live music, games and an outdoor bar.

The project, led by Linwood Park Company Director and Linwood Landing Project Leader Nancy Getter, was developed to create a new destination for residents, visitors and families while making better use of available park property.

Getter said the idea grew out of conversations about how to activate the space and create an attraction that benefits both Linwood Park and the Vermilion community.

“We wanted to find a way to better utilize this property while creating something that would bring people together,” Getter said.

The concept was also inspired by visits to other successful food truck parks, including one in Lakewood.

Linwood Landing will be open Thursday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Visitors can expect a mix of food trucks, local vendors, live entertainment, cornhole and a pet-friendly atmosphere near the shores of Lake Erie.

“This is really for Vermilion – residents & tourists “ Getter said. “We want it to be a place where families, friends and visitors can gather, relax and enjoy everything our community has to offer.”

Bowl Thyme will partner with Linwood Landing to operate an outdoor patio bar. Jeremy Crawford, owner of Bowl Thyme and a partner in The Pavilion Grill, is helping lead the project alongside Linwood Park Superintendent Matt Crase and Linwood Park Company President Jeff Zabor.

While Linwood Landing officially opens June 25, organizers describe the launch as a soft opening and the beginning of a growing community destination. Additional food trucks, vendors, entertainment and amenities will continue to be added throughout the summer.

“We’re just getting started,” Getter said. “Our goal is to continue building Linwood Landing into a vibrant gathering place for the community.”

Getter said the project has received strong support from the City of Vermilion, local residents and businesses, as well as a Destination Development Grant from Lake Erie Shores & Islands. “It has been a true partnership with Linwood Park Company & Bowl Thyme working together.”
