Police Respond to Reported Weapons Threat on Mornington Road

Police responded to a reported weapons offense on Mornington Road at approximately 7:06 a.m. this morning after a construction manager reported a male at a nearby residence allegedly threatened to run over and shoot the work crew.

The incident occurred at a residence described as the second house north of Berkley on the west side of the street, possibly a blue house. Initial dispatch notes indicate the individual was yelling at workers about the construction and appeared extremely agitated.

Officers from Vermilion Police Department assisted on the scene and completed a report. Officials noted the male may continue to pose a problem, and further issues could arise.

This is the second reported confrontation involving threats and construction activity in the same neighborhood this year. Vermilion Daily previously reported on a April 2025 incident nearby that also involved weapons threats.

No further information was immediately available. This is an active and ongoing matter.

If you have concerns about a public safety issue, call the Vermilion Police Department non-emergency line at 440-967-6116 or dial 911 in case of emergency.
