From the desk of Vermilion Police Chief Chris Hartung, here are the incidents handled by the Vermilion Police Department between September 22 and September 28, 2025:

September 22, 2025

  • 0045 – 4700 block of Liberty Ave.: Traffic stop resulted in an OVI arrest.
  • 0427 – 1100 block of Oakwood: Suicidal subject transported to the hospital for treatment.
  • 2335 – 400 block of Aldrich: Fraud complaint involving a subject posing as a Peacock TV employee via telephone.

September 23, 2025

  • 2042 – Liberty Ave.: Minor car vs. deer accident.
  • 2307 – 300 block of Aldrich: Neighbor dispute; no arrests made.

September 24, 2025

  • Nothing to report.

September 25, 2025

  • 0045 – 1300 block of Sanford: Deceased male subject, determined to be natural causes.
  • 1327 – 4700 block of Liberty: Warrant arrest.
  • 1734 – 3200 block of Elyria: Animal complaint; citation issued for animal at large.

September 26, 2025

  • 1414 – 1200 block of Sanford: Juvenile complaint involving a student rumored to have brought a firearm to school. Investigation ongoing.

September 27, 2025

  • 1340 – 1000 block of Sanford: Domestic dispute; no arrest made.

September 28, 2025

  • 1011 – 5300 block of Ohio St.: Suicidal subject transported to the hospital for treatment.
  • 2011 – 5600 block of South St.: Disturbance complaint; no arrests made.
