The information below reflects calls for service and police activity handled by the Vermilion Police Department during the listed dates and times. Incidents are reported as received and summarized for public awareness.

December 1, 2025

  • 2:00 a.m., Sunnyside Road: Car versus deer accident
  • 9:34 a.m., Sandusky Street: Semi truck struck a railroad bridge
  • 3:33 p.m., Liberty Avenue: Motor vehicle accident

December 2, 2025

  • 5:27 a.m., State Route 2: Motor vehicle accident
  • 8:49 a.m., 4800 block of Pineview Drive: Parking complaint
  • 12:11 p.m., Liberty Avenue: Driver stopped for a moving violation was found to be under suspension and placed under arrest
  • 4:20 p.m., 1500 block of Rolling Meadows: Officers assisted EMS with a transport to Mercy Hospital for evaluation
  • 4:55 p.m., 1100 block of Oakwood Drive: Welfare check requested on a male not heard from; the individual was located in a crawl space under the residence and transported to Mercy Hospital for evaluation

December 3, 2025

  • 9:30 p.m., 4400 block of Liberty Avenue: Menacing complaint

December 4, 2025

  • 10:27 a.m., 400 block of Parkland Drive: Yard parking complaint
  • 11:38 a.m., 300 block of Morton Road: Check fraud complaint
  • 2:10 p.m., 5700 block of Liberty Avenue: Credit card fraud complaint
  • 2:35 p.m., 3100 block of North Ridge Road: Hunting complaint
  • 4:35 p.m., 5200 block of Devon Drive: Officers assisted Perkins Police Department in locating two suspects involved in a shoplifting complaint; the suspects were located and turned over to Perkins Police for further disposition
  • 5:56 p.m., 800 block of Aurora Drive: Male subject arrested on a warrant issued by the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office

December 5, 2025

  • 12:50 a.m., 1000 block of Sanford Street: Possible domestic violence reported; officers conducted a welfare check and the incident remains under investigation
  • 11:47 p.m., 1300 block of Hollyview Drive: Possible domestic violence reported; parties were separated and interviewed, no physical injuries observed, and both agreed to separate for the night

December 6, 2025

  • 9:42 a.m., Liberty Avenue: Driver fell asleep while driving and crashed a vehicle; following investigation, the driver was arrested for OVI
  • 10:32 a.m., 1600 block of North Ridge Road: Amherst Police requested assistance with a confrontation between two males in vehicles; the suspect was located, arrested for open container, and transported to Mercy Hospital for evaluation
  • 11:00 a.m., Harcourt: Motor vehicle accident
  • 2:05 p.m., 3500 block of Liberty Avenue: Officers assisted EMS with a transport to Mercy Hospital

December 7, 2025

  • 10:23 a.m., 300 block of Parkland Drive: Domestic violence reported; one female suspect was arrested and transported to the Lorain County Detention Home pending further proceedings
  • 10:51 a.m., 200 block of Windward Court: Sick raccoon reported
  • 7:31 p.m., Cummings Road: Motor vehicle accident
  • 9:19 p.m., 3200 block of Lorain Road: Counterfeit bills reported

December 8, 2025

  • 9:43 a.m., 5500 block of Liberty Avenue: Medications found in a restroom; items were disposed of after the owner could not be located
  • 8:57 p.m., 4900 block of Timberview Drive: Officers assisted EMS with a full arrest call

December 9, 2025

  • 4:15 p.m., 3700 block of Edgewater Boulevard: Check fraud complaint

December 10, 2025

  • 3:04 p.m., 300 block of Altamont: Credit card fraud complaint
  • 5:47 p.m., Liberty Avenue: Motor vehicle accident
  • 9:12 p.m., West River Road: Motor vehicle accident
  • 9:32 p.m., 200 block of Parkland Drive: Dog bite complaint

  • 3:14 p.m., 3200 block of North Ridge Road: Motor vehicle accident
  • 11:43 p.m., Ingleside Drive: Parking complaint

December 14, 2025

  • 12:00 a.m., 200 block of Altamont Road: Domestic violence complaint; parties were separated and interviewed
  • 3:08 a.m., South Street: Parking complaint
