Vermilion Fire Department Incidents

The following is a report of fire department activity for the City of Vermilion between June 21 and June 27, as provided by local officials:

June 21
13:50 – EMS assist – Vermilion Road
Responded to assist EMS with a male who had fallen from a ladder. One truck responded with one person.

June 21
23:01 – Residential fire alarm – Darrow Road
Responded to multiple smoke detectors sounding. Three trucks responded with ten personnel.

June 22
04:13 – EMS assist, lift – Harcourt Road
Responded to assist EMS with a large male needing transport. One truck responded with four personnel.

June 22
17:10 – Motor vehicle accident – SR 2
Responded to a multi-vehicle accident. Four trucks responded with eleven personnel.

June 22
19:07 – Motor vehicle accident – Liberty Avenue
Responded to a reported motorcycle accident. Five trucks responded with thirteen personnel.

June 23
14:00 – Transformer on fire – Guilford Road
Responded to the report of a transformer on fire. Two trucks responded with three personnel.

June 23
14:54 – Commercial fire alarm – Exchange Street
Responded to a commercial fire alarm. Two trucks responded with three personnel.

June 23
17:04 – EMS, unresponsive – Claus Road
Responded to assist EMS with an unresponsive female. Two trucks responded with eight personnel.

June 23
17:35 – Residential fire alarm – Shadyside Drive
Responded to the report of a smoke detector sounding in the home. Two trucks responded with eight personnel.

June 24
16:11 – Propane tank leak – Vermilion Road
Responded to the campground for a reported leaking propane tank. Two trucks responded with nine personnel.

June 25
09:58 – Motor vehicle accident – SR 2
Responded to a non-injury, two-vehicle accident. Two trucks responded with four personnel.

June 25
10:58 – Gas line rupture – Nicholson Avenue
Responded to the report of a gas line being struck by a lawnmower. Two trucks responded with four personnel.

June 25
15:59 – Gain access for VPD – Fairfax Road
Responded to assist VPD in gaining access to a residence for a welfare check. One truck responded with four personnel.

June 26
06:11 – CO alarm – Cliffside Drive
Responded to investigate a CO alarm in the residence. One truck responded with three personnel.

June 26
23:20 – Motor vehicle accident – SR 2
Responded to the report of a vehicle going across the median and into a wooded area. Three trucks responded with eight personnel.
